I’ve been home almost two weeks now from a deeply nourishing work / pleasure trip down in California.  My cup is full, and I am well nourished.  I teach at a Reclaiming Intensive that takes place in the Redwoods of California.  It’s a gathering birthed by renowned eco-activist Starhawk.  The magic is deep. The community incredible. I’ve been attending this gathering for a decade, and have built deep soul-nourishing relationships with so many people there, it’s like going home.

It’s one of the places I go to rejuvenate my soul. Which is so necessary for me as I hold space for people’s pain and suffering.

What do you do to fill up your cup?

In these times of great change, I believe it’s necessary to nourish our hearts and soul to maintain our sanity. Caring for ourselves is not selfish, but actually, one of the most generous things we can do for ourselves and the people around us.  I think it’s fair to say we all know we can give more to others, listen deeper, and take things less personally when we’re feeling nourished instead of depleted and over-worked. And by nourished, I don’t mean just by food! Nourishment comes in as many forms as you can think of.  Sleep, nutrition, quiet restoration are just a few.  Perhaps for you, it’s time to play an instrument, draw, daydream looking at clouds, meditate or dance.
Whatever that soul-nourishment is, I recommend you make space for yourself to partake in it.  Consider it an act of radical self-love.

Learn Herbal Medicine!

The Alchemey of Herbal Medicine course is a product of my deep love; plant medicine.  Weaving modern western herbalism and traditional wisdom, The Alchemy of Herbal Medicine is a 9-month immersion into the world of herbal medicine. We taste herbs, make tincturs, syrups, salves and creams and other potions and lotions. We also sit quietly with plants, and get to know their body and spirit.
